FOX FARMS

Tucked away in a quiet corner of the countryside, Fox Farms is a small, locally rooted farm with a deep commitment to biodynamic principles and the cultivation of native flowers, grasses, and shrubbery. What makes this place especially memorable—beyond the vibrant plant life—is its equally colorful team of caretakers: a charming troupe of Chinese Crested glam rock girls who bring both flair and devotion to the land they tend.

My visit was both inspiring and educational. I had the pleasure of spending time documenting their practices, learning about the importance of native species, and understanding the thoughtful choices behind their abundance. One key takeaway was their approach to seasonal transition—particularly winter, when the landscape shifts into what many might dismiss as dry or lifeless. At Fox Farms, however, this natural cycle is embraced. Rather than clearing away withered plants, they allow the remnants of the season—fallen flowers and dried grasses—to remain, creating vital shelter for the many creatures who rely on them to survive the cold months.

This gentle philosophy—allowing nature to operate on its own terms—was one of the most touching and forward-thinking stories I've encountered in sustainable farming. And yet, Fox Farms doesn’t stop there.
